Racism in America

Racism in America more than likely will be something that exists for generations to follow. No matter how many steps we take forward to generate a colorless country, there always a setback that reveals a stunning revelation that snatches headlines. Recently, a documented video was made showed the new recruiting tactics of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK). Courtesy of Barcroft TV, this video gives an in depth view of what the KKK plans to do to strengthen their group during a secret rally.

When I woke up this morning, I never expected to come across this video but that’s the thing about life, you have to expect the unexpected. Sure, it’s a little shocking to be but then again I shouldn’t be surprised. Just because it’s not happening right in your face doesn’t mean that ignorance isn’t brewing somewhere else.

No matter how much we try to hide from this sensitive topic of racism, the reality of it stands out like a highlighted paragraph in a brand new textbook. Donald Sterling’s comments a few months ago created an uproar all over every media outlet. Grabbing headlines, stirring up conversations and shedding light to theories that many have believed to be myths.

Attach the collection of recent months of the “Sterling comments”, the incident in the suburb of  Buffalo, NY of the lady and child shouting an explicit derogatory at the male in his vehicle, and a whole list of many other unkind documented and undocumented situations. This video of the KKK’s revamping is just another way to prove that no matter how prestigious and unified people of all cultures can become in this country there will always be a setback bubbling to pop and smack labels across the faces of America.

I hope you all can take into account that not all people are evil and ignorant. Together we all struggle in the uphill battle of American progressivism. We all want “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.”
