International Women’s Day 2018: #PressForProgress The Ultimate NYC Events Guide

From Struggle to Triumph Women Are Resilient, Today We Unite

International Women’s Day is once a year, but what a difference a day makes.  With the recent and constant hoo-hah on gender parity, gender inequality, body shaming, violence against women and all things #MeToo – today is a day to unite women and #PressForProgress.  Around the world human rights supporters are coming together with women of all races, body shapes and sexual orientations to unify, motivate and celebrate women.  It’s time to take action for gender parity and equality.

Here’s a run down of the happenings in NYC:

Pussy Cat Painting Party $20

Inspired by Judy Chicago’s 1979 feminist piece called ‘The Dinner Party’, this event is a celebration of women and vaginas throughout herstory.  Each guest will paint hers/his own plate signifying their perspective or ideology of what it means to be a woman today.  During the event there will be performances by spoken word artists, singers and so forth. Come enjoy some tea, yummy food and good vibes.
