The art of vocal percussion was most popular when artist like Biz Markie and Dougie Fresh incorporated it into their music. But if you watch the film “American BeatBoxer” you’ll learn that its so much more than that. The film itself shows you the first ever beatboxing championship in Brooklyn; however at the recent world premiere in Harlem a Q&A panel discussed how beatboxing is used in schools for the blind & deaf.
The documentary pays homage to an under appreciated music and expression art form. For more information on “American BeatBoxer” check out www.facebook.com/AmericanBeatboxer and follow @makeithappenent on twitter.
