February 27; a shooting took place at Chardon High School, in Chardon,OH. The Gunman was identified as TJ Lane, 17. Lane reportedly opened fire shooting five students, killing two and injuring three. One of the two homocide victims was identified as Daniel Parmertor, 16, who died from injuries shortly after reaching a hospital. Daniel’s family released this statement Monday afternoon:
“We are shocked by this senseless tragedy. Danny was a bright young boy who had a bright future ahead of him. The family is torn by this loss. We ask that you respect our privacy during this difficult time. “
The Superintendent immediately canceled all classes for the entire Chardon School District Feruary 27 as well as Feruary 28.
Amazingly this trend of allowing homocide, sucide, and genecide to be used as an emotional outlet has plagued our society all to often in recent years; the issue lies within the psyche of modern day man. Why do we believe death and mayhem to be or ticket out? Has our society regressed to our primal stages of problem solving, or have we just allowed ourselves to become accustom to the belief that any kind of hardship is life telling us to give up?
