Millennial Part II: Conformists Conforming To Conformity

To further the analysis of the Millennial, and to abruptly display what flaws has shaped our generation. Long after the Barney Generation arises the years of conformity, but the American is to avoid conformity through the emulation of what is seen as “different“. Essentially they’re “hipsters,” which is a connotation of an idiotic ideology; everyone’s idea of different is being the exactly the same, this stage is the key component to the death of creativity and artistry.

In other words the destruction of the of yet to be achieved American Culture is through the death of the individual; “A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines” -Ralph Waldo Emerson (Self-Reliance). Although every society is typically made up of enforced “Laws of Life,” those are usually what push a person to step outside that box and be an Individual. I guess the point of it all is we are setting up shop for a Desolate Future.

  1. The drives for conformity and rebellion may be expressions of our deeper desires to be loved and accepted yet independent and unique. Those drives may also be a consequence of rigid and often internalized social expectations. In many ways we’re not free. Society is an ever-judging presence that makes assumptions based on skin color, style of dress, beauty, career status, wealth, etc. The great irony of all of the hipsters and fashions may be that we are all seeking the same things out of life but are unsure how to achieve them.

  2. I just have to say this was pbobarly one of the most effective articles I have come across on the topic so far. I don’t know where you gather up all your information but I am impressed! I am gunna send a few individuals your way to check this out. Awesome, just plain awesome. I am just getting into spitting out articles myself, nothing close to your writing skills (ha!) but I would love for you to check out my stuff someday!

      1. “I’m not surprised that vincloee has popped up there. And then you have the hipsters coming around to the nightspots. There’s a lot of people looking for drugs, so that all works well together. It makes for a thriving community.”FUCK YOU, law enforcement official who asked not to be identified . No, DOUBLE and TRIPLE FUCK YOU. GO DIE, and BURN in HELL. NIGHTSPOTS? What fucking NIGHTSPOTS? At 17th and Mission?!This is my neighborhood I know it like the back of my hand and things like this happen because assholes like you, who are paid to watch over us, decline to do their job and enforce the law. Guess that must be a hard job, huh? Not like the easy gig the rest of us have, right?Asshole.
